Blown Fuse
Home » Blown Fuse
A fuse is a safety component in electronic devices and circuits. A fuse blows when there is an excessive current passing through a circuit and the fuse overloads.
A blown fuse can result in personal injury, lost power, and damage to your device or appliance. A blown fuse is also one of the top causes of electrical fires especially in older homes.
So what do you need to do when you have a blown fuse in your house?
A blown fuse needs to be repaired as soon as possible. We do not advise trying to change your circuit breakers or fuses yourself, as this can be a dangerous job and may even lead to short circuiting. Instead, enlist the help of a licensed and qualified emergency electrician for any electrical home repairs.

If a fuse is on the outside of the house, never attempt to change if it is raining as you could experience an electrical shock.
Never replace a fuse with a higher-rated amperage because your device may attract a higher current than your electrical system which can result in a wiring problem or an electrical explosion.
We strongly suggest you call our emergency electricians to ensure experienced professionals are the only people who work on replacing a blown fuse or overloaded circuit.
Have you experienced a blown fuse in your home or faulty circuit breakers in your utility room or office? Call R.E.S on 1300 417 810 for a rapid response now!
Turn off the main power supply on your switchboard and NEVER manipulate any electrical installation without first cutting the power to the circuit. Ensure all main switches and electrical panels are off so there will be no electrical flow.
We do this manually by pulling out one fuse at a time and checking whether the fuse wire is intact or broken. Once your emergency electrician has determined which fuse is faulty, they will safety remove it.
Now that the faulty fuse box has been removed, it can now be replaced with a new one of the same amp rating. Then, we will test the new fuse by raising the switch lever. And just like that – the electricity is back!
